Emma Igelström

Emma Igelström belonged to the absolute top world elite in swimming for ten years. ( Some of her merits ) When Emma was nine years old, she said, “I’m going to be best in the world. I just have to practise a bit more, then I’ll beat all the Americans and the Chinese.” During the World Championship in Moscow in 2002, she made history by being the first woman in the world to swim 50 metres breast-stroke in under 30 seconds. She had made her dream come true! She left Moscow as the Swimming Queen with three world records, three gold medals and one silver. At the same time,Emma Igelström had been, for eight years, struggling with the illness bulimia.
