Fredrik Ljungberg, born on 16 April, 1977 in Vittsjö, Skåne, in the south of Sweden, began playing football at the age of five in Halmstad BK. Fredrik was even promising both in ice-hockey and in handball.

He made his debut in Allsvenskan with Halmstad BK in 1994 against AIK and had scored 16 goals in 139 matches when he was sold to Arsenal for £3 million in 1998.
