Stefan Holm

Stefan Holm was born in 1976 in Forshaga. He is trained by his father, Johnny Holm, and he belongs to the exclusive few who have jumped 2.40 metres. In 2004, he won the Olympic gold medal in the high jump, despite doing badly in the finals. This fantastic achievement in the final which made him the first Swede to take a high jump gold in the Olympic Games, led to Stefan being presented with Bragdguldet (Best achievement award) and Jerringpriset (the Jerring Prize). ArtFörlag has published a numbered and signed bibliofile edition of the book in only 99 copies. “One of 12” is a documentary journey in words and pictures, by the author Stefan Holm and the photographer, Micke Solebris Sörensen. During 161 days, we can join them at the preliminary training sessions in Våxnäshallen in Karlstad and going on to training and competitions in Sweden and abroad. Eventually the goal is reached; the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, and we can experience the author’s innermost thoughts during the thrilling high-jump final and the concluding gold-jump.
